To be very sensible, fair and objective… This Depends! Sometimes yes… sometimes no! Logically, not every student/customer situation is the same! Also, one must logically consider how far along the visa process has gotten, and how many administration fees have already been paid out to our providers. To make this explanation simple, Progress handles all “Refund” matters on a case-by-case trial basis, where all facts, reason and logic are considered. Think of it this way: It is the same logic as when one expects a refund from an airline company… for a refund on your airplane-ticket… before or after you have flown!
Firstly, when traveling abroad, your passport is the single most important document in your life! Secondly, the question of being reminded should also include the the sensibility of the degree of responsibility, duty and obligation that we ALL share in an adult world! Yes! Progress does its best to remind our customers of critical steps along the way of the visa process, but in doing so, we expect our customers to make/take important note of these critical steps, and to make it a very personal point to fulfill their end of the bargain, regarding responsibility, duty and obligation! This is an unwritten “Rule” in all walks of life and committment! “I forgot!”… after being emphatically told… is no excuse to blame others.
The THB 24,000 secures for you a 90-day, ED Student Visa stamp in your passport. This stamp allows you to extend every 90-days… for another 90-days (without ever needing to depart Thailand)… up to a full year of stay in Thailand! The cost of the 90-day extensions are not included in this advertised price, because the student/customer’s choices to remain or depart Thailand are a matter of their own, personal convenience. Some wish to stay only for 90 days! Others wish to extend their stay! This ED Student Visa provides this convenient option to extend while residing in Thailand!
Due Diligense! For the individual who finds these offers… it is their responsibility to do their own research and to contact these schools… and ask if the advertised price is only for administration fees, and does not include a 90-day, ED Student Visa stamp in your passport. If their price DOES NOT include a 90-day, ED Student Visa stamp in your passport, then the obvious financial committment to such a contract… does not require an explanation! However, if their lower price DOES includes a 90-day, ED Student Visa stamp in your passport, then Progress will meet and beat that lower price, should you choose Progress instead! Beware of the “Bait-and-Hook” scam, where applicable! Regret, prior to investigation, is no excuse! When shopping for the best price, call and ask the right questions! Progress’ “Transparency Policy” is to inform those who either contact us via online social-media, by phone, or show up to our school office… on all the cost options! We won’t be undersold on the Real Deal!
90-day, ED Student Visa extensions are considered an additional cost, because the matter of deciding to extend for an additional 90-days is entirely up to the student/customer. Progress does not predict how long foreigners choose to remain in Thailand as a student! Therefore, Progress advertises the initial THB 24,000… as the cost of obtaining the FIRST 90-day, ED Student Visa stamp in your passport! That’s right! You’ve read it correctly! Nearly every school operates along these lines of marketing, and do not let them tell you otherwise! So… these 90-day, ED Student Visa extensions are considered an additional cost, because wanting something more than what you have purchased… costs extra!
Regardless of any visa that a foreigner obtains from the Royal Thai Ministry of Immigration, ALL foreigners are required to report to immigration every 90-days, and extend their stay. It doesn’t matter what type of visa the foreigner has in their passport. There is no such thing as a One-Year visa, or Six-Month visa, or Million-Year visa, etc… because every foreigner in Thailand is expected to report to immigration every 90-days… IF… the foreigner wishes to remain in Thailand! SO… one might consider staying in Thailand as being broken down into 90/90/90/90 day increments/portions! A “Visa’s on Entry” and “TR” (Tourist) visa are both exempt from this rule. Most schools advertise for only the first 90-days, because any sensible business cannot know if the student will decide to extend, or depart the Land of Smiles! It might seem like a scam, but it really is not, and is quite sensible and respectful to the customer’s freedom to choose… because the foreigner is locked in for the first 90-days, but has the option to opt-out after that… or not… so why advertise a higher price by predicting what the customer might do at 90-days, and scare off others, who make different choices? We advertise the “Main Course! If you want “Dessert”, that’s extra!
